Government contractor AI strategy that hits the mark
without wrecking your budget
Most people think bringing in AI will fix everything.
That gets expensive fast.
Surefire Panel helps 8(a) and mid-sized GovCons figure out where AI actually becomes a competitive differentiator — without wrecking your budget or putting secure documents at risk.
We work with leadership teams on:
Customized executive education for the people deciding what the tech stack should look like
Safe internal AI tooling that respects your data classification and compliance posture
Intentional knowledge management so your team can actually find what it knows
whose side are we on?
Yours.
We don't resell AI tools. We don't take vendor kickbacks. We don't get paid more if you use more AI. We get paid to tell you the truth about where AI belongs in your business — and to build the smallest thing that works. If the honest answer is "you don't need us for this one," we'll say that, too.
What we do
〰️
What we do 〰️
Executive AI Education
A working-session curriculum that aligns your leadership team before you spend a dollar on tools or policy. Six to twelve executives, one full day, in person. Leaders leave with shared language, a govcon-specific marketability frame, a right-sized AI policy direction, and named owners for the next 90 days.
Internal AI Tooling & Workflow Analysis
We build the tools you actually need — and tell you when you don't need AI at all. A lot of "AI projects" should be deterministic automation. We map your process, tag every step honestly, and only deploy AI where non-determinism is an asset. SharePoint-grounded Custom GPTs, sparring-partner assistants, per-workflow tooling — built to respect your data classification matrix and your compliance posture.
Intentional Knowledge Management
A bespoke platform that lets your team ask contextually guided questions inside your own organization — without the Copilot configuration tax or the maintenance burden of a homegrown RAG system. Canonical, synthesis, and discovery layers, GraphRAG retrieval, traceable answers. Built to live where your data already lives.
Why we exist
Generic AI consultancies don't understand the room you're operating in. GovCons are working through three things at once:
The market is shifting.
Defense and national-security dollars are rising with AI prioritized. Civilian work is contracting. Small-business prime share is declining.
The compliance bar just rose.
FAR overhaul, CMMC Phase 2, M-25-21/22, draft GSAR 552.239-7001 — AI obligations are landing in solicitations. Responsible-AI readiness is a discriminator now, not a checkbox.
Your team is running on Excel.
Capture managers, contract leads, program managers — most of them work in spreadsheets and SharePoint folders nobody has touched in two years. They don't need an AI strategy deck. They need someone to find the real bottlenecks.
We work with executives who aren't tech-savvy and don't pretend to be. We figure out what the tech stack should look like, where digital transformation pays off, and where AI actually earns its keep. We already speak govcon.
About the name
Surefire Panel used to be a tool that simulated a proposal-evaluation panel. We sunset that product. The name stayed because it still describes what we do — only now, the panel is real, and we're the people in it.
We're the advisors GovCons bring in when AI, compliance, and leadership decisions all have to land at once.
